The Barefoot Expression Session in association with Hurley will be held in Bundoran during the Sea Sessions festival from the 21st June until the 23rd June and is again sanctioned by ASP Europe. This year we have added a bodyboard comp to the event. The idea of the event is to get the best surfers to compete against each other but to use the Expression Session format.The Expression session is judged on best Move/wave depending on conditions allowing the surfers to go as hard as possible and to bust as big as big a moves as possible.

Surfers/Bodyboarders

 The Expression Session will showcase not only the top surfers in Ireland but will pit the top Irish surfers up against the top European surfers. Last year the final was a battle between France’s William Alotti and the UKs Ruyben Ash .The ASP coming to town will allow local surfers the chance to gain international recognition and push the level of Irish surfing.

Entry

The Event is invitee only so there is no entry on the day. European surfers can email profiles to seasessionssurf@gmail.com if interested in getting involved. This year we are running a qualification event in Strandhill on the 19/20th May for Irish surfers looking to gain entry. The Strandhill event will have 4 slots up for grabs as well as cash prizes. When/Where

The Main Event in June will have a 3 day waiting period from the Friday 21st June until Sunday 23rd June. The Event is invitee only and no entry on the day is allowed. The Expression Session is structured to allow it to run in 2 hours to maximise the chances to get the best tides/waves etc. The Event is also mobile but the main areas will be Tullan Strand, The Peak, Inside left and Main Beach.
