Dublin Indie Rock ensemble Penrose continue their hectic schedule with the launch of their first single of 2016, “Sign On” digitally on the 12th May and a Headline gig at The Grand Social on the 21st May. Penrose have plans for another single later this summer and a full album is due early next year. If the success of their critically acclaimed 2015 releases (EP “Live for the Dream” and single “Melody”) are anything to go by, these new productions will be well worth watching out for.
As well as spending time in the recording studio, the band have been working the gig circuit both in and outside of Dublin. Early June, Penrose head across the small pond for showcase gigs at two of London’s venues, Dublin Castle, Camden and Underbelly, Hoxton. Later in November the band have been invited to cross the bigger pond to Toronto, playing at the top indie festival there, Indie Week Canada. Picking up a publishing contract along the way, shooting some great videos and adding keys player, Benjy Hayes to the line-up…Darragh and the boys have been very busy and have been hotly tipped as ones to watch for 2016 with Spill Magazine naming the band “one of Irelands best kept secrets”.
